Cambrian Aquatics – Pool Admissions Policy

The safety of all our customers, especially children, is our number one priority. These supervision rules are mandatory for entry to all swimming sessions and must be strictly followed.

  1. Mandatory Adult Supervision Rules (Ratios)
Age Group Supervision Requirement in Water Maximum Ratio (Child:Adult)
4 and Under Years Must be accompanied by a responsible adult (18+) on a one-to-one basis in the water. 1:1 (One adult per baby/toddler)
5 to 7  Years Must be accompanied by a responsible adult (18+) in the water at all times. 2:1 (One adult per two children)
8 Years and Over Children aged 8 and over may swim unaccompanied. N/A (May enter alone)

A responsible adult is defined as a person aged 18 years or over.

  1. Combined Supervision Policy

When supervising children of different age groups, the stricter 1:1 ratio for Under 4s always takes priority and reduces the adult’s capacity to supervise older children.

  • Example 1: One adult supervising a 3-year-old (1:1 rule) and a 5-year-old (from the 5-7 group) meets the ratio. The 1:1 rule for the 3-year-old takes up the adult’s full supervision capacity.
  • Example 2: One adult supervising two 6-year-olds meets the standard 2:1 ratio for the 5-7 age group.
  1. General Safety Conditions
  • Adult Responsibility: The supervising adult must remain within close proximity within the water and maintain direct eye contact with the children they are supervising at all times.
  • Special Events: Specific sessions, such as inflatable use, public events, or large group bookings (e.g., parties), will be subject to stricter supervision ratios for enhanced safety. These will be communicated upon booking or entry.
